Cyta

In 61 years of service, Cyta has connected our island, its people and their businesses with the world around us. Although 540 km away from its nearest contact point with Europe, Cyprus, through Cyta’s infrastructure, today boasts as many as 13 submarine cable systems, the fastest mobile telephony network in Europe and the world’s largest 5G population coverage, reaching as high as 100%. In itself, this yields significant comparative advantages for the country, contributes to the development and competitiveness of the economy, attracts substantial new investments and lays the foundations for a new model of sustainable development.

The new technologies developed by Cyta are the very cornerstone of digital era infrastructures and may well be part of the solution to climate change. More specifically, they contribute to reducing the use of raw materials and increasing productivity; they improve operational efficiency and shield the economy by breaking into new markets and attracting new customers with innovative products and services.

Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability

Technology affords us the tools for economic, social and business development. At Cyta, we harness the power of technology to obtain maximum customer satisfaction and equal access for all to the digital society.

The Sustainable Development strategy is a strong component of Cyta’s vision and mission. Soon it is intended to become part of our business strategy too, with the adoption of targeted objectives and projects, while our activities will also be evaluated in relation to their ecological and societal footprint. Starting from 2022, we assess corporate results by balancing profitability with society and the environment, in alignment with contemporary ESG reporting standards. A zero-carbon-footprint objective is also expected to be set within 2022, on the basis of international standards and EU timelines.

Our aim is to lay the groundwork for elevating Cyta into a model public Organisation that robustly adheres to Viable Green Development principles for the benefit of all the citizens of our country.
